An integral part of Karlovy Vary – the Kamzík statue

The statue of Kamzík stands on a rock formation above Karlovy Vary. The statue has been located here since 1851 and was created by the sculptor August Kiss. The statue was installed here by Baron Lützov, who wanted to ridicule the fictional rumor about the discovery of the hot spring. Currently, there is no original statue on the rock, but only a copy made by the sculptor Jan Kotek. The original statue was vandalized.
