The most beautiful Czech zoological gardens - part three

We imagined gems in Ústí, we opened a chapter in Prague, Brno and Ostrava ZOO. Nevertheless, we are still missing several interesting places in our list, and our series is thus far from over. Where else can we go? For example, to explore and have fun in Hluboká nad Vltavou or Dvor Králové nad Labem, we will certainly not make an exception with the ZOO in Pilsen. We just have to look everywhere!

Hluboká Zoo near České Budějovice

It was founded shortly before the outbreak of the Second World War, but its glory continues to this day. More than two thousand animals from almost four hundred different species. Ussurian tiger, golden eagle or brown bear, but also wolverines, vultures and meerkats. Six hectares make ZOO Hluboká one of the smallest permanent zoos in our country, but you definitely won't forget your visit here.

The ZOO located near the border with Slovakia breeds more than seven hundred different animals, was founded in 1975 and can be proud of breeding lions, tigers and chimpanzees, there are also sharks. After all, there is also a feline beast in the emblem, which are generally the pearl of any similar attraction. Less than eight hectares makes the Hodonín ZOO almost a dwarf, but if you walk around here, you will surely tell us that you like the picturesque spaces here...

Twenty-one hectares and seven thousand animals. The fourth most visited ZOO in our country, up to three quarters of the cultivated species are found nowhere else in the Czech Republic. Barbary lions, lemurs, penguins and rhinoceroses, but also iguanas, precisely these animals represent the local areas. The undoubted advantage of this ZOO is that it also includes a botanical garden, so you will have fauna and flora nicely together. Now all you have to do is make time and go to the West Bohemian metropolis.

It is located in the Hradec Králové region the second largest domestic zoo. Dvur Králové nad Labem, 94 hectares, more than two thousand different animals. What more to add? Take a safari tour bus ride, enjoy a gallery of paintings presented by Zdeňko Burian and reminisce about your school years when you admired prehistoric animals. Orangutans also live here and gorillas have their own special pavilion. After years, the hippos also returned, since 2015 the very popular lion safari is also open.

ZOO Tábor

The pearl of southern Bohemia is undoubtedly the originally Hussite town of Tábor, which you can visit one of the youngest Czech zoos. It was founded only in May 2015, but with its area of ten hectares it dominates the region (Hlubocká ZOO is somewhat smaller). A lion, a tiger, a monkey or a wolf live here, there are "so far" seventy species of animals, but it can be expected that this number will significantly increase in the future...

So where are you going this weekend? We have offered you another interesting five zoos. And it is true that we do not have to end our list yet, we will introduce it in the last part a couple of smaller gardens and we will finish the series about the most interesting Czech zoos. When the children are excited about the animals, why not go for a walk gallery - Museum?
