They are not limited to the capital or the largest localities, you can admire animals from all continents in Ústěk or even in Protivín. This ZOO was founded in 1931 and currently keeps five thousand animals. It is the most popular tourist attraction in the Czech Republic with more than a million visitors per year. On almost sixty hectares, it is possible to admire not only lowland gorillas, but also Komodo dragons, rare Převalský's horse and also a varied palette of felines. There are eagles, camels or a flock of flamingos, children living in Prague can also enjoy classic country pets. You can also take a cable car ride here or walk through the genuine Indonesian jungle. And the list of attractions does not end there, the polar bear and the panda can tell stories!

Brno Zoo

The ZOO, which was founded in 1953, is one of the larger zoos with an area of ​​65 hectares. More than three hundred animal species and a total of sixteen hundred specimens, including some the Sumatran tiger, the Kamchatka bear or the Congolese lion. The management here is mainly proud of ungulates, but it does not leave out the much-loved Children's Zoo or Tiger Rocks either. Of course, you can also see rocks, waterfalls and other natural gems here, which only document the very hilly terrain in the vicinity.

One hundred hectares and four thousand animals, that's the Ostrava ZOO, founded in 1948 and twelve years later it was opened to the public for the first time. Right after Chomutov, it occupies the second place in size among Czech zoological gardens. You can find it here panda, lynx or even giraffes, the pride of the area is also the large Botanical Park with exceptionally old beeches (up to 150 years).

Founded in March 1952, breeding two thousand animals, an area of ​​more than forty hectares. Certainly, the Olomouc Zoo really has something to be proud of. You can find it right next to Svaté Kopeček, so you can combine the ZOO and visiting monuments. Visitors can be interested not only in kangaroos, but also llamas, Manchurian leopards and giraffes, which have been here since the eighties of the last century. Popular animals include the raccoon and the dingo dog.

Zlín Zoo

Fifty-two hectares, seventy years of existence and more than two hundred animal species. In Zlín, the local ZOO is not missing, for example African elephants and Ussurian tigers, but the kiwi bird or the stingray can also be seen here. The polar bear and the chimpanzee are already such a classic, more than half a million visitors come here every year.
