National jewel - Hořické tubes

The town of Hořice is known primarily for the production of Hořice tubes. According to legend, the wounded personal chef of the Emperor Napoleon told Mrs. Líčková the recipe for making tubes during his return through the Czech lands after the defeat in Russia in 1812, as a reward for his treatment.
