The biggest landmark of Tovačov (and at the same time its most valuable monument) is the castle with the 96 m high tower Formosa, also called Spanila. Originally a water fortress stood here, later a Gothic castle, the owner of which was King John of Luxembourg himself, but due to financial difficulties he pledged it to the nobility.
