Mohelnice-plague column with sculpture
The Plague Column from 1717 by Jan Václav Strumer stands on Náměstí Svobody in Mohelnice. On the column is engraved the inscription of the local chronicler Keller, describing the plague epidemic in 1715. At the top of the Corinthian column is a statue of the Virgin Mary with the baby Jesus. On a four-sided pedestal is a statue of St. Rosalie and the statues of the protectors against the plague of St. Charles Borromeo, St. Roch, St. Sebastian and St. Francis Xavier. On…
