Mikulášovice - former observatory

A small Art Nouveau house stands in the middle of Mikulášovice directly opposite the church. At first glance, the round tower with a dome attracts attention. It is the former pharmacy of the local pharmacist Adolf Kraus, an enthusiastic amateur astronomer. During the rebuilding of the house in 1913, he also built a tower with an observatory. He carried out observations there until his death in 1939. In the 60s of the 20th century, it took over both the equipment of the pharmacy and the observatory.
