At the intersection of Palackého, 1. máje and Čihadlo streets there are the remains of the walls with a commemorative "Swedish plaque". The "Swedish plaque" commemorates the complete destruction of the city during the 30-year war in 1643, when Litovel was conquered and looted by the Swedes, who had the walls demolished. In 1652, master mason Matěj Volkmann repaired the walls and installed a "Swedish board" in them. The inscription on the plate reads in translation: Years of the Lord 1643 on the 19th…
