Teplice Spa and excellent beer

The first written references to brewing in Teplice date back to the 15th century, but as in most other places, it can be assumed that beer was brewed earlier. Only there is no written evidence of this.
It wasn't until 1520 that Teplice lord Jan Waldštejn granted his governor the right to brew and tap beer for his faithful service. In 1581, Emperor Rudolf II confirmed this important right to the city of Teplice by special majesty.…
