Krucemburk lies on the former Liběcká path from the 11th century, passing through the then impenetrable woods on the Czech-Moravian border. It was founded at the beginning of the 13th century by the order of the Teutonic Knights as an upper settlement with a parish church and a fortress, after which Krucemburk was named Kreuzburk (crusader castle). Krucemburk is mentioned for the first time in documents in 1241 in connection with silver mining in the area...
