Cross of Krop-seff

You can find this cross by a large light beech under the road from Kristiánov to Ptačí kupy. It commemorates the event that happened on May 5, 1878. At that time, the son of the owner of the Frýdlant estate, Count František Clam-Gallas, was passing through here accompanied by foresters. Unexpectedly, they met the poacher Josef Pörner from Desná, who was carrying a rifle ready to be fired. He aimed at the count and was shot by the foresters. He was wounded by bullets…
