Today's Kralupy nad Vltavou was created not only as a result of the economic boom of the last 150 years, but also by the merger of several neighboring municipalities at this time. At the same time, the former village of Kralupy, originally located at the local river ford, became the core of the gradually emerging transport hub and industrial agglomeration.
The name Kralupa / apparently derived from the words ?koru lúpati?, i.e. to peel the bark for the groin...
