Kostelní Vydří - Carmelite monastery

The site of the monastery is located on a hill above the village of Kostelní Vydří near Dačice, approximately 35 km from Jindřichov Hradec. At the end of the 17th century, on this hill, there was a place where a special glow appeared. That is why the owner of the local estate, Gerhard Jindřich Butz from Rolsberg, had a chapel built here in 1709 and an image of the Virgin Mary of Carmel placed in it.
