The village was founded sometime at the beginning of the 12th century. Since 1359, the village was in the possession of the Johannites of Strakonice. Church of St. He owned the Martin Order since 1320, when he received it as a gift from Vilém of Strakonice. The church was built in the Romanesque style, sometime towards the end of the 12th century, and subsequently rebuilt several times.
