Church of St. Catherine
The church is one of the most valuable monuments of Chomutov. It was founded in 1252 as a monastery church of the Teutonic Knights. The nave from the 13th century and the presbytery from the end of the 13th century have been preserved to this day. The main nave and tower of the church disappeared in the 16th century during the reconstruction of the command to a Renaissance castle, which was converted into a town hall after the redemption of the town from serfdom at the beginning of the 17th century.
