Church of the Nativity of the Virgin Mary in the town of Tábor

The history of this church is closely related to the fateful battle on Bílá hora, when even Tábor townspeople who did not want to emigrate had to convert to the Catholic faith. Discalced Augustinian monks were invited to the city to spread the faith.
 
In the place where houses were derelict and destroyed by the Thirty Years' War, a monastery complex began to emerge. Everything was overseen by the Italian architect Antonio de Alfieri, who gave the construction…
