Previously, a Romanesque church stood on this site, which was left in 1333 by the Prague bishop Jan IV. from Dražice to be rebuilt into a Gothic temple. Within a few years, the Augustinian monastery was built next to this building, and the entire complex was completed in 1360. It was damaged during the Hussite wars.
