Church of the Assumption of the Virgin Mary in Netín

The dominant feature of the village of Netín in the Velkomeziříč region is the ancient church of the Assumption of the Virgin Mary on the hill above the village. It is a pilgrimage church, originally Gothic, modified in the Baroque style, but the interior is mostly modern. The most important monument is the Gothic statue of the Virgin Mary with the baby Jesus on the main altar, called "smiling", to which pilgrimages have been held since the beginning of the 18th century.
