This unique technical monument, probably the only preserved one of its kind in our territory, was created around the middle of the 18th century.
It was used to produce tar, based on the principle of slow drying of wood without access to air. At a temperature of about 150°C, water began to release from the wood, at 300°C resin, and at a temperature of around 400°C, tar was already coming out of the furnace.
