Kněževes near Prague, statue of St. Jan Nepomucký
The statue of St. John of Nepomuck was left by the Jesuits at the beginning of the 18th century. The inscription on the base says that it was repaired in 1891. It stands on the outskirts of the village above the junction of the former Long Mile road leading to Prague and the road to the cemetery, the rest of the road to Hostivice. (Both roads disappeared in the middle of the last century during the expansion of the Ruzyne airport, which is immediately adjacent to Kněževes.) The donor of the repair of the statue would...
