The small village of Klášter is located about 10 km east of Nová Bystřice in the district of Jindřichův Hradec near the state border with Austria at an altitude of 650 m above sea level
The village originally housed a Paulan monastery with a church, founded in 1491 near the springs, which were considered to be healing.
