Monastery of St. Agnes Česká
Monastery of St. Anežka Česká was founded by Princess Anežka of Přemyslovsk, sister of King Wenceslas I, probably in 1231 as the first Convent of Poor Clares north of the Alps. It is considered the first Gothic building not only in Prague, but in Bohemia in general. The area originally consisted of a larger convent of the Poor Clares and a less important convent of the Friars Minor, which later disappeared. The monastery was an important spiritual center in its time...
