Karlštejn - the church of St. Palmacius
The Church of St. Palmacius is located in the township of Karlštejn, in the local part of Budňany on the left side of the road leading from the river to the castle. This is the only church in the Czech Republic dedicated to this saint. The church was founded by Charles IV. simultaneously with the construction of Karlštejn Castle in 1348, it was completed in 1356. In 1422 it was destroyed by Hussite troops. It was restored at the beginning of the 16th century. In 1648, it was demolished by Swedish troops.
