Karl Kraus
Karl Kraus was an Austrian writer, poet, playwright and journalist. He was born on April 28, 1874 in Jičín, where he grew up in the family of a Jewish paper mill owner from Jičín. When Kraus was three years old, the family moved to Vienna. From 1896 he tried to work as an actor and theater director, but without success. Since 1899, he publishes his own magazine Die Fackel (Torch), where he denounces hypocrisy, corruption,...
