Jiřetín pod Jedlovová is a small town near the northern part of the Lusatian Mountains, we can get there by road I./9. Jiřetín was founded in 1554 as a mining town by Jiří ze Šlejnice, after whom it got its name. Deposits of silver ore were found in the vicinity, Jiří ze Šlejnice, the lord of the nearby Tolštejn castle, guarding the land path to Žitava and the Lusatian Six Cities, invited miners from Saxony here.
