River with hydroelectric power plant - Nymburk

Within sight of the medieval walls of Nymburk, there is a local weir with a hydroelectric power station and a navigation chamber.
The weir began to be built in 1915 as part of the navigation of the Middle Elbe. The weir is divided into three chambers, each 22 meters wide and equipped with lift gates. Fish crossings are built in both outer pillars of the weir. An 85-meter-long and 12-meter-wide lock is part of the weir. In…
