The village of Dlouhá Stropnice is located at the foot of Kraví hora in the Novohradské hory. The settlement stretches along both banks of the Stropnice stream, which also gave its name to the nearby town of Horní Stropnice. Dlouhá Stropnice has a rich history. The first mentions of Dlouhá Stropnice are from the 13th century. Until 1945, the village was owned by the Buquo family since the 17th century.
