It was the first church in Javornica with a rectory. It was probably built in the middle of the 13th century, the building is dated 1260 according to the inscription on the Romanesque-Gothic portal. The church was apparently built before the great colonization, which is evidenced by the Slavic name Javorník. Not far from the church stood a fortress that was looted by the Hussites in 1428, and the church apparently also suffered on that occasion.…
