Jaroměř in the wake of the Czech estate uprising and shortly after it

By defenestration of the highest land officials on May 23, 1618, disaffected Protestant estates began an open resistance against the monarch. 30 provisional directors who were elected from all 3 estates took over the regional government, with all cities joining them except the Catholic Pilsen and České Budějovice.
