The city of Zábřeh gratefully uses the monuments of its native Jan Welzel, who was born here on August 18, 1868. At the age of 16, he set out on a journey into the world, he set out on foot via Vienna to Genoa, and then traveled almost the entire Balkans (which at the time belonged to largely to the monarchy), after military service then to Hamburg to get a job as a stoker on a ship.
