Ivan - Liberation Monument

A statue of a Red Army soldier with a machine gun on his shoulder, facing east. The author is Konrád Babraj and it was unveiled on the occasion of the 10th anniversary of the liberation in 1955. The statue is called Ivan by Žďáráky, just as the adjacent park where the statue stands is called Ivan's place. In 1968, when Ivan's brothers came to visit us again to free her, the Žďáráci tried to tear her down. They didn't have a powerful enough tractor for it at the time, so Ivan gave us...
