Hrubá Skála-church of St. Joseph

In 1804, a big fire hit the Hrubé Skály suburb, which destroyed most of the wooden buildings. The then owner of the castle, Karel Josef from Valdštejn, had stone houses built for officials, servants and outbuildings on the outskirts of the castle. He abolished the castle chapel in the south-eastern corner of the castle, and in 1812 he built the Neo-Gothic single-nave Church of St. Joseph.
