Cemetery in Brno-Židenice

The current Židenice cemetery in Balbínova Street was founded after the closure of the older cemetery (from 1854) on the site of today's Tyršova Sad in 1886 above Údolíček Street. It soon grew into the second largest Brno cemetery.
Here are the graves of the victims of the First World War and the world champion in gymnastics and the prominent champion of Sokol, Professor Jan Gajdoš (1903-1945), who became one of the victims...
