Walls and fortifications

The city had extensive fortifications from the 13th and later the 15th century, when the walls were completed. Now the remains of the walls line the center of the city. Of the original three city gates, only the Mikulovská gate has been preserved. A prismatic tower with a high hipped roof rises above it.
