Castle Kašperk
The well-preserved ruins of a Gothic castle stand on a rocky promontory on the upper reaches of the Otava River in Svatoborská vrchovina, 3 km north of Kašperské Hory. At 886 m above sea level, it is the highest royal castle in Bohemia. The castle offers such a beautiful view of the Šumava Mountains. The castle was founded in 1356 by Charles IV.
