The Mining Museum was established in 1987 by the decision of the then Minister of Fuels and Energy at a time when the mine was still mining. It was opened to the public almost 6 years later, on December 4, 1993, on the feast of St. Barbara, patroness of miners. The Mining Museum is the largest in the Czech Republic, and together with the Landek Hill National Natural Monument forms a unique complex.
