Hofmann's shed
The Hofmann hut (785 m above sea level) is one of the most famous huts in the Giant Mountains. It is located at the foot of Černá hora, in the saddle between Janské Lázně and Černý Dol. The first mention of the mountain hut dates from 1781. The hut was named after its original owner, Wenzel Hofmann, the first chairman of the municipality of Černá Hora. It is worth noting here that more often than Hofmann's shed, the wrong name is used...
