The village of Hlízov is located in the northwestern extremity of the Kutná Hora district, about six kilometers from the city itself, under the Kaňk hill.
The village of Hlízov is first mentioned in 1142, when it belonged to the Sedlec monastery. In 1736, Kateřina Schofmannová, married to Wiederberger, acquired the Hlíz estate, who probably had a baroque castle built on the site of the defunct fortress, which has been preserved without major changes...
