The village of Heřmaň is located about 7 km south of Písek in the district of the same name in the valley of the Blanice river at an altitude of 382 m.
The village is mentioned already in the middle of the 13th century. At the beginning of the 15th century, it was already attributed to H. Smilo from Křemž as a small town. In 1416, the first ever recorded Hussite storm occurred in Heřman. Armed followers of Master Jan Hus then forcibly entered the local rectory and looted it. IN…
