A settlement by the Úhlava river, which was first mentioned in 1429. Originally, there were several manors here belonging to the Royal Forest. Thanks to the occurrence and processing of iron ore, which was mined in the vicinity and processed in Hamernik, the settlement grew. In the 18th and 19th centuries there were glass smelters and a glass grinding factory.
