The grove in Silesia is the birthplace of two famous Silesian personalities.
In 1829, the Silesian revivalist, professor and writer Antonín Vašek, father of Petr Bezruč (real name Vladimír Vašek), was born in the building of today's Pod Hůrkou hotel (former inn). He died in 1880 in Brno, where he is also buried. His parents, Jakub and Terezie Vašek, and other relatives are buried in the local cemetery.
