Several important personalities were born or worked in Frenštát pod Radhoštěm, to whom monuments or memorials have been erected here. One of them is Dr. Josef Janda (1811-1876). In 1865, he founded the Memorial Book of the City of Frenštát and was thus the first chronicler of the city.
