The named footbridge was built by Lesy ČR at a cost of almost 5 million crowns in 2007 as part of its Program 2000, currently known as Program 2020, with which the company supports the publicly beneficial functions of forests nationwide. The footbridge has significantly contributed to increasing the safety and well-being of visitors to Veveří Castle and its surrounding forests.
