The settlement of Doudleb, respectively of the local headland above the Malší river, goes back deep into history. It is assumed that the Doudleb tribe arrived here sometime in the 8th or 9th century. Archeologically, however, it is documented as late as the tenth century. Almost nothing remains of the castle itself. Only the remains of ramparts (noticeable today rather by orientation signs).
