There are several city parks in Olomouc, used for walks, relaxation and rest. The oldest and largest of them are the 19-hectare Smetana orchards. They were established on the western outskirts of the city in 1820. They were founded by the then Archbishop of Olomouc, Rudolf Jan Habsburgský.
