Hanička is one of the largest Czech fortresses built before the Second World War, it was built between 1936 and 1938 for almost 28 million crowns. She was to have a crew of 426 men. The task of the fortress was to strengthen the defense zone in difficult terrain. With its heavy weapons, Hanička could shell enemy territory deep in the rear.
