Chrášťany lies about 8 km northwest of Rakovník in the direction of the road I/6 Prague - Karlovy Vary (3 km from the center of the village). It is a relatively large hop-growing village with 640 inhabitants today. The oldest archaeological findings here prove settlement as early as the 5th millennium BC. The first written mention of Chrášťany dates from 1295. The local part of Nový Dvůr belongs to the Chrášťany.
