The Romanesque chapel stands by the old merchant route from Saxony to Bohemia, on the slope of Na Vyhlídka hill in the Ore Mountains, high above the village of Chlumec.
In the Middle Ages, it served as a resting place for pilgrims and merchants traveling along an important trade route. It is an ancient place of pilgrimage where a local procession took place. A strong healing energy is also attributed to this place.
The chapel is often associated with the battle near Chlumec in 1126.…
