České Budějovice - Samson's fountain
Samson's Fountain stands on Přemysl Otakar II Square, it is its dominant feature and one of the symbols of the city. The baroque fountain was built between 1716 and 1721 on the basis of a decision of the city council from 1727. In its place stood a pranýř. The technical solution is the work of František Baugut from Jindřichov Hradec, the stonework was done by Zachariaš Hron and the sculptural decoration is the work of Josef Dietrich. Both from Č.B.
