A very nice forest beech (Fagus sylvatica L) guards the approach to the crossroads near the former Drakov settlement from the south. It is sometimes mentioned as a beech tree near the Josefské hamr, which indicates that there was a metallurgical facility nearby that used the water power around the flowing Černá Opava. More precisely, the drive to the hammer equipment probably started here, but it is located about 2 km further south.
A tree of its kind and age is rather rare here,…
